These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website deductsy.com and any related services provided by Deductsy ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use the Service. The Service is designed around U.S. federal and state tax law and is not appropriate for users in other jurisdictions.
2. The Service is a planning tool, not tax advice
Deductsy provides educational tax-planning calculators. We are not a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Enrolled Agent (EA), attorney, or registered tax preparer. Nothing on the Service constitutes legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice. See our Tax Advice Disclaimer for details.
Calculator results are estimates based on the information you provide and on simplified tax assumptions. Actual tax outcomes depend on facts and circumstances we do not capture. Always consult a qualified tax professional before filing returns or making major financial decisions.
3. Accounts
Some features of the Service require an account. You can create one with an email address and a password, with a one-time sign-in link sent to that address, or through Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, for the security of the email address the sign-in links are sent to, and for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Plans, billing and refunds
The Service has a free plan and paid plans. Current prices are shown on our pricing page; paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe for the period you select, and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled.
Trial. Paid plans begin with a 14-day free trial. You are not charged during the trial, and cancelling before it ends means you are not charged at all.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period expires.
The $500 guarantee. If the priced savings shown in your Tax Summary total does not reach $500 — measured at the time you make the claim, for the tax year for which you subscribed — you may request a full refund of the amount you paid by emailing support@deductsy.com within 60 days of that payment. You keep any report or export you have already generated. This is offered once per customer, applies to the payment most recently made, and is in addition to any refund rights you have under applicable law — nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms.
- Attempt to interfere with the Service's security or operation, including by attempting unauthorized access, denial-of-service attacks, or scraping at a rate that disrupts service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the underlying logic of the Service for commercial reuse without our written permission.
- Use any automated system (bots, crawlers, scrapers) other than reasonable, identified search-engine crawlers.
6. Affiliate links and third-party services
Some pages contain links to third-party services. We may receive a commission if you sign up for a service through these links, at no additional cost to you. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy practices of any third-party service. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
7. Intellectual property
All content on the Service — text, calculators, designs, logos, code — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CALCULATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC TAX SITUATION.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL DEDUCTSY, ITS OPERATORS, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Deductsy and its operators from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
11. Modifications
We may modify these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. You may stop using the Service at any time. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability, disclaimers, and intellectual property terms) will survive.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, U.S.A., without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
